Warren Roberts, Arboretum Superintendent Emeritus, from UC Davis will lead our group in a 90-minute tour of the demonstration gardens near the Teaching Nursery. We will tour the Ruth Risdon Storer Garden - A Valley - Wise Garden. The garden features flowering perennials and small shrubs that are especially well suited to Central Valley gardens, including many Arboretum All-Stars, their recommended plants for Valley-wise gardens. We will have a private tour of Boonie Lang’s “Secret Garden”, the Garden of Inspiration and Harmony, Myo-Wa-En. This garden is not opened to the public. Dirt Gardeners – Secret Garden

Jennifer Khal will do a presentation on miniature gardening with succulents – addressing the 4 C’s of succulents: Color, Compatibility, Composition and Care. She will make the miniature garden in a large coffee cup to address how to work with succulents in a container that does not offer drainage. Cost is $21, special rate, per person, all materials included. This program will be limited to 20 members due to space constraints.

Linda McDonald, co-founder of FOLFAN, will guide us through spring wildflowers on the new Waterfront trail on Lake Natoma. It will be an enhancing opportunity to explore the wonders and resources of Natomas lake.
